Fun Fur Christmas Tree

Image
The cutest little yarn tree/fun fur tree centerpiece, and they are too easy to make! I sent mine home for Christmas, which didn't quite work out too well though. The yarn stuck to the cones and they went all flat. Family asked me what they were... too many questions... just smile and wave. Here is a great link, from the lady who inspired me: http://www.roxycraft.com/crafts_fur_tree_tutorial.htm

Pot Holder Scissor Keepers

Image
These Pot Holder Scissor Keepers are fun and easy to make.  Fold them into a triangle shape and have your glue gun ready on the sidelines.  Leave them plain, for the discerning, or embellish with beads and trinkets from the scrap booking section in your local craft store. Fill with a note pad, scissors of course, pencil and pens, you name it!

Bird Toys

Image
My friend Dawn, was very thoughtful and made these fun little bird toys. She sent some home with me for all of the birds. At one time she was thinking about selling them, but then something got into her head about them looking weird, and of course the difficulty of selling them... she has an awesome imagination. Ryley absolutely loves his new toys, that were handcrafted with care and great attention to detail and safety! The last photo contains foot toys. So far Ryley thinks they are to throw and soak in his water dish. Aren't they great!!

Ryley Modelling Bird Toy

Ryley models a bird toy I made him.  He received lots of fun, homemade toys from my friend Dawn in Victoria.

Halloween Buddies

Image
Meet my Halloween Buddies. Rub yer eyes again. They just won't go away. An evil looking pumpkin pencil topper, a tarantula puppet on a string who's in it for the long-haul of endless fun, and my teracotta pot witch toting her freaky chicks! After the time it took to make them, it was difficult to let this motley crew go to my swap partner!

Duncan's Last Day

Image
My best friend passed over the Rainbow Bridge in March 2009. Duncan was ill off and on for most of his life. On the day of his passing he could not keep anything down and my little blue Angel passed within hours. Duncan was a huge part of my life, and even saying this minimizes the impact this 28 gram fluffball of feathers had in my life. Dunky had comments and sound effects for absolutely everything, 24/7. He was a kind, loving, social, silly and very easy going Parrotlet! My family, co-workers, hair dresser, chiropractor, massage therapist, etc, were subjected to endless stories about the daily happenings surrounding Duncan and I. He sang three songs and had a large vocabulary; the most hilarious being sniffing sounds and 'you smell delicious!', and 'kiss toes!' He even screened my current boyfriend, and after 3 months of dive bombing him, Duncan finally accepted Bill into our "flock" when he landed on his shoulder! Duncan was my calm when there was a storm,...

Meet Ryley, DOB January 26, 2009

Image
I brought Ryley home shortly after losing Duncan. I found this adorable little guy, the last boy in his clutch, on Kijiji. He hails from Innisfail, AB. He is parent-raised instead of human pulled and syringe fed. His current weight is 24 grams, and so Ryley is smaller than a hand-fed plet, and a little more bird than a bird who thinks he's human (this may change). He is 6 months old now and talking up a storm, and loves to ride on my shoulder. There are a lot of words that are grumblies right now too, but they will become more clear eventually. Ryley is such a little sweetheart, and so tiny but don't let him fool you ~ he's tough!

Knit Bib

Image
Simple knit bib in seed stitch using bamboo cotton.  I really love the seed stitch. The bamboo cotton made it a bit too flimsy for my liking.  I don't know what my sister did with it... lol.

Christmas Tea Basket

Christmas Tea Basket that I made for a raffle that we had at work, to help raise money towards the cost of shoe boxes for Christmas presents at a school.

Felted Coffee Cozies

Felted knit coffee cozies.  They are addicting to make!

Potpourri Panty Swap & Felted Coffee Cup Cozie

Image
Ok, so we got a little crazy at Creative Korner and had a potpourri panty swap! I guess you could say it was an altered craft.  These little ditties were filled with potpourri and a little polyester stuffing.  You can sew the edges, or it is easier to use fabric glue, and embellish as desired.  They made great smelly drawer liners, and there were so many variations that made this swap hilarious fun to participate in!

Bills and Coupons Holder

Image
Items are from Michael's. Just use a couple of coats of your favorite color in acrylic, some Crackle, which is so awesome, transfer letters from the scrapbooking section, and a couple of glass pebbles. Not fancy but it was fun to make! I sealed it with a coat of varnish and a kiss.  Oh, so you are paying attention!

Secret Santa Scarf

Image
This scarf was super easy to knit.  Wish I could remember the name of that yarn. Must check my stash for more. My secret partner loved it, and that's what pretty much counts.  So there.  Don't you love the shagginess of it!
