January Birthday Flowers

January 7 is my birthday. These flowers are from my good friend, Gloria, and *sniff*, did they ever make my apartment smell divine! I kept them alive until I had to pull the plug... until some of those little yellow thingies fell off and smeared on the carpet, like squished catepillars. They are so NOT good for little birds to eat, especially my little guy, Duncan, who's too curious about things he shouldn't be... little stinker.

mmm, i can just imagine how good those must've smelt! pets are like that, we got a new puppy and he was eating our geraniums! blagh!

No Sew Summer Place Mat Purse

Trendy, geeky, or just plain weird?  Did someone say place mat purse?  Creative Korner had a place mat purse swap in June.  I made mine from a round placemat.  The jewelled embellishment and handles were purchased at Michael's and a garage sale. Sing it ~ like a cowgirl, I got my glue gun by ma side, I'm wanted ~wanted~, dead or alive...  The sides of the purse were drawn in and glued, and the handles were sewn.  The nice thing about it is my purse didn't need a zipper or button to close.  Like it?  I really did, but had to mail it to my partner, hmph.
